Glad you're back, hope Jay had a little better experience with Disney this time (no scary dark Mr Toad rides, I hope!). We gotta get this train rolling again! When will Justin be back?

Nice! Now that Jason is back, Evan and I don't need to be the lynch-mob anymore. And even better, for the first time in 5 rounds, I actually will get to make a pick in the 20th! Party time!!!

Justin sent me his picks and I didn't realize it. He sent me lists for the upcoming rounds also, and initially said he was sending a list for 19/20 to Zack. But then he included his 19/20 lists too and I overlooked that.

I'm posting his picks now.

I'm back, too. I was in Pittsburgh over the weekend, which is why Evan was posting my picks.

Happy Birthday, Jason! Might as well talk about something while we're waiting for movement ;)

When's the Bourbon Street Backstroke?

Happy birthday Mr. Bigglesworth! I think I'll play some Reel Big Fish on high volume in your honor ;)

Thanks. Happy belated Birthday to Peter! Unfortunately, I was still unwinding from the vacation and totally forgot to post.

We missed opening day in the AL, any hope of finishing this thing by opening day in the NL? Since we changed our roster composition, I might shorten the draft to 25 rounds and make the 26th round keepers into 25th round keepers. We don't really need an extra bench spot anyway and it would probably shorten the draft by a week or so. Well, maybe at least a day.

Its funny how I have 2 blogger ID's, one posting as Jason and one as mymrbig. Its also stupid.

Happy Birthday indeed! March is such a grand month for a birthday. Although Aires is not nearly as cool as Pisces.

And what is it with the Sox oening in Japan? It seems like MLB is doing everything they can to destroy their fan base. They start the world series so late that kids in the Eastern and Central time zones cant even watch it (although as a west coaster, I absolutely love it), and then have the defending champs have their "opening day" be at 6:00am local time? Not to mention, they played a regular season game today, and then they have preseason games again this coming weekend in Los Angeles. Bud Selig is an idiot. Sorry (rant ended).

No worries Jason, I took care of Peter. Yeah, you heard what I said.

I'm all for N-1 bench spots. Let's do this crazy thing! I have money to lose! (Actually, to send to you first, but who's counting...)

The Bud-Selig-is-an-idiot evidence just keeps rolling in, doesn't it? Don't get me started.

Happy birthday, Jason!

I agree that losing a round wouldn't hurt things. Should we take it to a vote?

I dont remember who finally just drafted Kevin Frandsen...but he just tore his achilles and is out for the season. Congratulations!

And that would be me. What a lovely bit of news that was, thank you. I must now go kick a wall a few times.

Forget a vote, I'm officially eliminating the 26th round. All 26th round keepers will become 25th round keepers.

I might go ahead and input what we have into Yahoo! in the next few days, then just lock roster moves until the draft is finished. That way, we can at least start accumulating stats when the season starts.

I am all for Jason's idea...inputting our current rosters so that we can start to accumulate stats as of next Monday. Anyone we add to the roster probably wont make a huge impact in week one, anyway.

I'm not going to defend Bud Selig, but the Sox will still have OD in Beantown and they play 162 in MLB ... there are enough games to go around,

Nobody has been griping on the comments portion, so I'd thought I'd draft an already drafted player for, I think, the 3rd time this draft.

I have a list from Joe from the last round... when he's sent lists before have people continued to pull from them, or wait for a new one each time? His next-listed have not been taken yet.

Blogger mymrbig said...

I'd continue to pull from his list, unless he said otherwise.

Yeah, he gave me the go-ahead to keep pulling.

Sorry for the short-term post and removal ... had a voice mail from Roy telling me to pick. I'm not sure when it was from ... so I picked ... it wasn't my turn, so I removed it. We do need to be wrapping this sucker up, though.

Jason, is there any rule that we need to have a complete roster at the end of the draft?

6:32 AM, March 31, 2008

Blogger Unknown said...

This is to let you all know that Michael refuses to give me a person for him to pick. After all the crap he has posted about people not making timely picks, he now feels that since the season started and it won't count until next week, that we can all wait until tonight before he decides to make a pick.

And why can't he pick for himself? He took the day off to go to opening day at Dodger Stadium.

So Roy, Evan, and everybody else with an upcoming pick who thought maybe we could finish this today, please say thank you to Michael.

Just give him Rocky and be done with it.

Wow, great call on posting my keeper. I'm stupid, so it took me like 2 minutes to get it (3 if you count the time it took for me to google the name).

Blogger Unknown said...

Thanks for the pub, Tom. And yes, since my pick won't even matter or be available to me until Sunday...I didnt feel the need to bring my lists to Dodger Stadium with me. Opening day was quite glorious...and far better than spending the day in the office!

In the future, I would be in favor of measures to prevent the draft from lasting 4 weeks. Actually, I've been in favor of such measures in previous years as well.

In my defense, I tried to organize a live draft (to no avail). I'd really, really like to go with a live draft next year. It would take less than 3 hours to finish and then we would be done. You just need to be well prepared, only 60 seconds to make each pick!

1:56 PM, April 01, 2008

Blogger ET said...

Yes, Jason, you deserve a Bud Selig-like salary for your valiant efforts.

You put together a league with enough owners who have problems with a live draft that it wasn't able to get scheduled, then say you tried your best to get it done. Perhaps. I was excited to start working out again today after a 4-day trip. But, I was unable to budge the 700 lbs. I put on the bar for my first set of deadlifts. Unable to even start my first set, I decided to give in, go home and watch tv.

Wow, Jason - one from the vaults. One of the top 10 signs you're old... aside from things like, you know, having kids.

He's been on the clock for more than 2 days. He must not really want to pick anyone. I need to replace Pedro (who is apparently only slightly less fragile than Mike Hampton - who injured himself warming up). I need to pick up a FA that no one else wants ... but I can't do that until everyone passes on said player. Let Kato pick and send everyone else to the FA pool ... waiting for Peter is ridiculous.
